Gustavo Vieira, a Brazilian ultra-endurance athlete based in Dublin, Ireland, made history once again by claiming 2nd place at the Deca Ironman World Championship 2025, held in Mysłaków, Poland. The race is considered one of the toughest endurance events on Earth, consisting of:
• 38 km of swimming
• 1,800 km of cycling
• 422 km of running
all done continuously, with no scheduled rest between disciplines.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Gustavo started this Deca just 3 days after completing a Quintuple Ultra Triathlon in Colmar, France — five consecutive Ironman triathlons performed non-stop:
• 19 km swim
• 900 km bike
• 211 km run
This demanding sequence would be unthinkable for most, but for Gustavo, it was a mission driven by faith, purpose, and perseverance.
“The body trains, faith sustains.”
Three Ultra Triathlons in 2025
Poland was Gustavo’s second Deca Ironman in 2025. Earlier in the year, he completed the Deca in South Africa, finishing in 5th place. Between those two extreme events, he tackled the Quintuple in France — making it a total of three ultra triathlons in one single year.
The welcoming community of Mysłaków played a big role in the experience. Gustavo made a point to acknowledge the incredible support and warmth of the local people, who lifted up the spirits of every athlete during this brutal test.
Faith That Moves. Purpose That Sustains.
Gustavo shares his journey and message through his Instagram account @ultragustavovieira, where he combines training insights, race footage, and biblical reflections. He also launched the brand EnduranceFaith, which blends performance with purpose and spirituality.
“Move with purpose. Live by the Word.”
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…”

What’s Next: Taiwan 2025
Gustavo’s journey doesn’t stop here. His next challenge will be yet another Deca Ironman continuous, this time in Taiwan, from November 9–23, 2025 — another official leg of the Ultra Triathlon World Cup. A new country, new climate, new terrain — and one more opportunity to inspire through faith, discipline, and relentless endurance.
